A star for Bern
Authentic cuisine with Mediterranean and alpine influences - Fabian Raffeiner is in the kitchen. The Michelin Guide awarded the Meridiano one of its precious stars. That is in addition to the 16 Gault-Millau points, which also distinguish the restaurant.
It's hard to reach such heights and even harder to keep doing it year after year. That's why we are so proud of Fabian for retaining his star for the second time.
The Michelin Guide has been awarding its famous stars since 1926 and since 1994 in Switzerland. According to the Guide, the stars mean the following:
- one star: "a very good restaurant, worth a stop"
- two stars: "excellent cooking that is worth a detour"
- three stars: "exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey"
There are currently 125 establishments with a Michelin star in Switzerland and the Meridiano is the only restaurant in Bern to have this distinction.
As the Michelin Guide puts it: Meridiano - an exceptional kitchen.
